order to get the best from it and to cater for 18 tables ,
Bridgemate needed a large outlay of money (new laptop, new
larger monitor, plus bridgemate equipment). With the scoring
details we regularly place on our web site (
www.altrinchambridgeclub.co.uk
) three times a week, scoring had become very laborious & took
about 70 minutes - now it takes less than 5 minutes. This is an
excellent advantage of using Bridgemate.
We had no difficulty whatsoever in installing the Bridgemate system and using it with our bridge scoring program. The altering scores are on view to all players, but there is little time for them to be observed during the play of 27 boards. About 12 players (out of about 70) wait to the end to see the final result. Players find the Bridgemates easy to use, but a section of players say that they see little advantage from their use; mainly those who do not use a computer. Their prime benefit at our club is undoubtedly the short time they take to produce the results, ready for printing & uploading to our web site. They are definitely here to stay.”
